Coding courses for children in Cham: Visual Programming and Digital Literacy
Three groups a week at Riedstrasse 3, on Thursdays in English and on Saturdays in German. Python, Minecraft and Game Design for older children online, AI online or on site.
In Cham we teach coding on Thursday evening and Saturday morning. On Thursdays from 18:00 to 19:30 Visual Programming runs in English with Enija Sārmane, for nine to eleven year olds, many of them from international schools in Zug and Baar. On Saturdays Alexander Mijatović teaches in German: Visual Programming from 9:30 to 11:00 and Digital Literacy for seven to ten year olds from 11:30 to 13:00.
Digital Literacy is the entry point: confident on the computer, first programs with blocks, own animations. In Visual Programming the children then build whole games and stories, get to know variables, conditions and loops and present their projects to the group. At most eight children per group, each on their own device, which we provide.
It continues online: Minecraft from age nine, Game Design from ten, Python from twelve, all in English, with fixed times during the week and at the weekend. The AI course from age twelve is available online or at the school. Alexander Mijatović additionally supports several of these groups. Families from Zug, Lucerne or Lake Zurich thus combine the Saturday on site with the rest from home.
